What if an extra 15 minutes could put $100 or more back in your pocket, per pallet?

Author: Lauren Bazzoli, Head of Sales

You’ve spent hours tasting wines, days traveling Europe, and countless calls and emails selecting, negotiating, purchasing, and shipping your orders. Make sure that effort pays off — if you aren’t filing for CBMA, you’re leaving money behind.

The Craft Beverage Modernization Act (CBMA) is a quarterly rebate against shipments received from your wineries. Rebates are calculated based on the gallons your winery assigns to your importer of record (that’s us!), so assigning sufficient gallons early in the year ensures rebates are processed on reorders throughout the year. Allocations can be applied retroactively within the current calendar year (and, due to tariff nuances this year, up to March), so it’s not too late to collect on shipments received earlier this year.

This only works if gallons get assigned to whoever’s handling your shipments.

This isn’t pocket change: in Q2 alone, Elysia filed a claim for $696,775 on behalf of our customers.

That’s the kind of money that often goes unclaimed when this administrative to-do is overlooked. What could this rebate mean for your own bottom line?
