FAQs
Freight SERVICES, unpacked.
-
Full pallets from a single country of origin are best, but half pallets are ok, too. The more volume you ship at one from a single country, the lower the rate. But as we say, just-in-time inventory is what’s best for your bottom line, so order what you need.
-
France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Germany, the UK, Argentina, Chile, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand are our most frequent countries of origin that we ship LCL from. We CAN ship from other countries; it just takes a bit more creativity.
-
Send your PO (here’s a link to an example) to po@elysiaships.com
-
That depends on the country of origin and the US port we are shipping it to. From when we receive the order to being available at our local warehouse, approx. 50 days from France, 55 days from Italy, 60 days from Spain.
-
New York, Oakland, Charleston for LCL. FCLs can ship to the port closest to you.
-
We recommend aiming for 28 9L equivalent cases, but we are happy to ship smaller to fit your needs. There are below minimum fees depending on the size of the order.
-
You’ll receive weekly automated updates. Additionally, you can login to our GLOBE platform and check the status of your open PO’s at any time.
-
After your PO arrives in the US and is delivered to a warehouse for de-consolidation, it will no longer appear on your open PO report. Do not worry; team Elysia and the relevant warehouse are verifying your order. You will receive the invoice within 1-3 business days. The PO is still available in your Master PO report.

The Craft Beverage Modernization Act is a permanent tax savings opportunity for US importers. You can save $2.38 per 9L case of wine minus a processing free per PO. The savings for spirits are much higher. It is worth it and we can help. cbma@elysiaships.com

Eysia & Co is a licensed organic wine importer. We work in compliance with the USDA regulations to bring in any organic wines on your behalf; this is a new requirement as of 2024. Reach out organic@elysiaships.com with questions and to get set up.
-
We keep our invoices simple. You will receive two from us. One for tariffs, taxes and duties. Then a second for ocean freight/inland trucking and cross dock plus add on services like CBMA and/or Organic registration. Any additional line items will be announced by Elysia & Co.
-
Tariff, taxes and duties are due on receipt. Typically these are sent around the arrival date of your order. These must be paid to ensure a timely release of your order at the warehouse. Freight invoices are sent when your product inbounds at our warehouse. They are also due on receipt and are sent in conjunction with releasing your order.
-
Let us know what trucking company you’ll be hiring. We’ll keep a default carrier on file for your account. Once you pay your invoice, we’ll release the order to that trucker and you & they will take it from there.
-
Intercountry transfers within the EU are expensive. Our LCL program is designed in part to avoid those. If you’re shipping from a country we don’t have LCL out of, we can research the best transfer options.
-
We do it best, but if you prefer to use your own for an FCL, let’s talk.
-
Yes, some of our most tenured freight customers do just that. They’ll have an ongoing queue of orders and we will help organize FCLs when the timing is right, and ship LCL when the volumes demand.
-
It depends on several factors – country of origin and port of destination, number of pickups, and your choice of temperature control – reefer or insulation.
-
For FCLs, yes. For LCL, we can in some regions. In other areas, we will be able to recommend a regional trucking company for you to hire.
-
Yes. We need the TTB ID for all wines that we’ll import on your behalf. This is one of the items we like to see listed on your purchase orders.
