Tariffs, Capacity & Wildfires (oh my!)

Section 301 tariffs took effect July 24, affecting all major wine growing regions, with additional actions layered on Canada and Brazil.

Westbound transatlantic capacity has tightened sharply — one carrier is exiting the North Europe–North America lanes and taking roughly 8,000 TEU of weekly capacity with it, which is driving a new Peak Season Surcharge from North European ports.
August's usual constraints are compounding the squeeze, with supplier holiday closures, vacation staffing, and limited driver availability slowing collections across Europe, so we recommend building in extra lead time on anything moving this month.

New U.S. Wine Tariffs: Stable For EU, Slight Increases Elsewhere Aside from tariff nomenclature, not much has changed. Our mainstay origins are staying at 10% tariffs with a few several countries increasing to 12.5%. We were able to process a handful of containers in the "tariff-free" window. Hooray!
